End-to-End Multi-View Networks for Text Classification
We propose a multi-view network for text classification. Our method
automatically creates various views of its input text, each taking the form of
soft attention weights that distribute the classifier's focus among a set of
base features. For a bag-of-words representation, each view focuses on a
different subset of the text's words. Aggregating many such views results in a
more discriminative and robust representation. Through a novel architecture
that both stacks and concatenates views, we produce a network that emphasizes
both depth and width, allowing training to converge quickly. Using our
multi-view architecture, we establish new state-of-the-art accuracies on two
benchmark tasks.Comment: 6 page
Thermal Conductance for Single Wall Carbon Nanotubes
We report a theoretical analysis of the phonon thermal conductance, \kappa
(T), for single wall carbon nanotubes (SWCN). In a range of low temperatues up
to 100K, \kappa (T) of perfect SWCN is found to increase with temperature,
approximately, in a parabolic fashion. This is qualitatively consistent with
recent experimental measurements where the tube-tube interactions are
negligibly weak. When the carbon-carbon bond length is slightly varied, \kappa
(T) is found to be qualitatively unaltered which implies that the anharmonic
effect does not change the qualitative behavior of \kappa (T).Comment: Revtex, 4 figure
Width of the confinement-induced resonance in a quasi-one-dimensional trap with transverse anisotropy
We theoretically study the width of the s-wave confinement-induced resonance
(CIR) in quasi-one-dimensional atomic gases under tunable transversely
anisotropic confinement. We find that the width of the CIR can be tuned by
varying the transverse anisotropy. The change in the width of the CIR can
manifest itself in the position of the discontinuity in the interaction energy
density, which can be probed experimentally.Comment: 6 pages, 3 figures, update references, published versio
